FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 7, 2024
Phoenix, AZ - Today, on National Fentanyl Awareness Day, Kari Lake launched her Families Fighting Fentanyl Coalition to combat a Weapon of Mass Destruction that is wiping out an entire generation: Fentanyl, a drug pouring across Joe Biden’s open border.
Last Friday, Lake met with parents that lost their children to fentanyl poisoning. She joined these mothers and fathers at the border to protest the inaction from Joe Biden and Sec. Mayorkas. Later that day, Kari Lake invited those parents to join her on stage during her rally in Nogales, Arizona and asked the media to shed light on this horrific crisis. (WATCH: HERE)
Lake has named Clark and Karen Griffin, who lost their son Tyler to fentanyl poisoning, as the co-chairs of this new coalition. The Griffins have been incredibly active in Kari Lake’s movement, and we are thrilled to have them join the team in an official capacity, leading this very important coalition.
Clark and Karen Griffin released the following statement:
“Never did we imagine that our beautiful and talented son would become a statistic among the hundreds of thousands of American citizens killed by synthetic fentanyl poisoning. When we met Kari Lake, at the height of our grief, she looked us in the eye and promised us that Tyler’s death would not be forgotten. Ask any mother or father who has lost their child to fentanyl, and they will tell you that Kari Lake is the fighter we have been praying for. We need a warrior who will fight the fentanyl crisis with a vengeance. Kari Lake’s opponent not only denies the border crisis, but he has rubber-stamped Biden policies that have made the problem so much worse. We can’t bring our son Tyler back, but we will do everything we can to send Kari Lake to Washington DC to help prevent more families from going through the tragedy that we did. We are incredibly honored to be asked to lead Kari’s ‘Families Fighting Fentanyl’ Coalition and we look forward to watching her tackle this issue head on in the United States Senate.”
